This latest update to Autodesk® Flame®, Autodesk® FlareTM, and Autodesk® Flame® Assist provides VFX artists with a slew of enhancements to fast-track their creative workflows and drive productivity. The new, next-generation camera tracker sees significant performance improvements and a new point stabilizer manual tracking mode. Furthermore, Motion Vector maps can now be cached as clips, allowing compositors to easily re-use assets across sessions. Artists can now also view any channel of a multichannel media source directly in the Flame timeline.
As client expectations evolve and become more demanding, Flame artists need to be able
to adjust and modify color/grades, composite, and do final editorial, interactively. Artists
need to efficiently capture their clients’ attention and get approvals, in a time sensitive
environment, to stay on deadline and budget. As software has become more accessible, it has enhanced the services and differentiation
that Flame owners can offer. Being able to do more services in-house, say ‘yes’ to the
client’s request, and always answer the ‘911’ fix it call has become more important than ever
to keep the client coming back for more.
Building on the newest Camera Analysis node, artists now have more control over the speed and quality of their 3D camera track. Fast, intermediate, and high-quality options are now available. Furthermore, for shots requiring manual tracking, a nine-way stabilizer option allows artists to place and track individual points on parallaxing pixels to achieve a camera solve
Motion Vector maps, which are used for motion warp tracking, projector tracking, and the new Camera Analysis node, can now be stored as a standard clip and made visible in Flame’s workspace. These valuable assets can then be more easily re-used and transported, giving artists more time to focus on being creative.
When working with multi-channel media (.psd .exr) in the Flame timeline, an editor can now expose different RGB and Alpha channels directly at the timeline level. This workflow enhancement will allow for graphic versioning, CG render browsing, and review, right in the timeline.
This update includes the latest Camera Raw debayer updates for BMD Raw 2.1 and Red 8.0.3.
