On October 10th we sponsored and co organized an event on 3D Printing with BAIA at TechShop San Francisco. It was an even bigger success than we expected! If you couldn't make it, here's a visual recap of the evening.
The evening started with networking, a glass of wine and free tours of TechShop.
In the meantime, the team from Type A Machines showed their printers in action and even gave a few lucky attendees a 3D printed souvenir to take home.
At 7 pm Tatjana Dzambazova introduced the panel discussion with her presentation RIP MOD FAB. She explained 3D Printing to those in the audience who were not too familiar with the technology. Above all, she showed examples of the ways 3D printing is being used, from Iris van Herpen's fashion creations, to self replicating 3D printers.
The panel discussion was not only informative, but also entertaining. Novedge's CEO, Cristiano Sacchi, moderated the conversation between Mark Hatch, Tatjana Dzambazova, Saul Griffith and Espen Sivertsen (you can read more about our panelists here). They all shared enthusiastically and honestly about their experience with not only 3D printing, but also technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. They disagreed on key issues, peppered the talk with humor and did not shy from controversial statements.
BAIA recorded the talk and you can watch it on YouTube.
