Mouse shortcuts are among the fastest ways to improve daily productivity in Rhino. Rather than repeatedly selecting viewport tools, use the mouse to navigate, repeat commands, and maintain focus on the geometry you are creating. Small reductions in cursor travel and menu clicks add up quickly during long modeling sessions.

In Rhino for Windows, a right-click in an empty area of the viewport commonly repeats the last command when no command is currently active. If you are placing multiple circles, moving several objects, or creating repeated curves, this can eliminate constant trips back to the toolbar or command line.

For example, after running Move, select the next object and right-click to invoke the previous command again. This simple habit is highly effective for iterative operations such as Copy, Offset, Trim, Fillet, and ExtrudeCrv.

Keep in mind that mouse behavior can vary by Rhino version, operating system, device driver, and personal settings. Review your navigation preferences before changing habits:

  • Open Options in Rhino for Windows, then review mouse and viewport navigation settings.
