Keep supporting information connected to the exact issue it relates to by attaching files directly to markups in Bluebeam Revu. Instead of sending separate emails or maintaining unclear folder references, an attachment can travel with the markup throughout the review process.
This is especially useful for RFIs, inspection photos, product data sheets, sketches, field reports, and revised details. A reviewer can select the markup and immediately access the relevant file without leaving the PDF.
For better coordination, establish a simple naming convention before files are attached. For example: RFI-024_Structural-Clarification.pdf or Photo_Level2_Grid-B4.jpg. Consistent names make attached content easier to identify when a drawing contains many review items.
Remember that attachments can increase the PDF’s file size. Attach only the information needed to support a decision, and use optimized PDFs or compressed images when distributing documents by email. For larger reference packages, consider attaching a shortcut or hyperlink to the approved project file location instead.
When working in Studio Sessions, attached files help provide durable context for collaborators reviewing the same markup. Pair attachments with markup statuses, replies, and responsible-party assignments to create a complete, traceable review record.
