Checkmark tools are a fast, consistent way to document completed work, review approvals, inspections, and closeout items in Bluebeam Revu. Instead of repeatedly drawing symbols or typing “verified,” create a standardized checkmark workflow that makes every drawing easier to read and every markup report easier to manage.
Start by placing a Checkmark markup from the Markup tools. Before placing several symbols, configure one exactly as needed in the Properties panel:
Once the checkmark is formatted, add it to a dedicated Tool Chest set. This lets everyone use the same approved symbol rather than creating slightly different versions on every project. A disciplined Tool Chest can include several related tools, for example:
For repeated use, select the saved tool from the Tool Chest and place it across a sheet with a single click per location. Review the results in the Markups List, where checkmarks can be sorted, filtered, and included in a markup summary. This is particularly useful for punch walks, QA/QC reviews, and document-control signoffs.
To keep reports reliable, avoid using checkmarks as decoration. Give each one a clear purpose, consistent Subject, and, when appropriate, an assigned responsible party. Standardizing small symbols creates a much clearer audit trail—and helps teams move from visual review to actionable project data.
