Bluebeam Tip: Customize and Standardize Bluebeam Revu Keyboard Shortcuts

Use the Shortcut Keys panel in Bluebeam Revu to learn, standardize, and speed up daily actions.

Access and explore

  • Open it from the Revu menu > Keyboard Shortcuts, then pin the panel so it stays visible while you work.
  • Use the search field to find commands by name, and scan categories to understand where each shortcut applies.
  • Filter by Assigned or Unassigned to quickly spot opportunities for new time-saving keys.
  • Click a command, press your preferred key combination, and confirm; the panel will warn you of conflicts.

Customize with intention

  • Prioritize high-frequency tasks: navigation, common markups, measurement tools, and publishing.
  • Group related actions on nearby keys and use consistent modifiers (for example, Shift for variants, Ctrl for global actions).
  • Avoid overwriting core navigation shortcuts like Pan and Zoom to keep muscle memory stable across your team.
  • Resolve duplicates immediately; reassign or clear the older mapping so only one action triggers per key.
  • Keep changes profile-specific; save your Profile so each project role can load the right set.

Practice and share

  • Drill on a sample plan for 10 minutes a day using only shortcuts; aim for eyes on drawings, not on menus.
  • Create a one-page reference: take a quick screenshot of your assigned list and post it in your team channel.
  • Export and share via Profiles: Revu menu > Profiles > Manage Profiles > Export. Import on other machines to standardize.
  • Revisit quarterly to prune rarely used assignments and fill gaps introduced by new tools or updates.
  • Combine shortcuts with tablet mode or a programmable mouse for even faster review sessions.
  • If you work across versions, keep a brief change log of shortcut updates so teammates upgrading mid-project can reconcile differences without breaking established habits or deliverable schedules safely.
