Enhance the clarity and consistency of your PDFs by creating and applying custom line styles in Bluebeam Revu. Custom line styles allow you to standardize annotations and markups to fit your project's specific needs.

Here’s how you can create and apply custom line styles:

  1. Access the Line Style Editor: Go to the Tools menu, select Markup, then navigate to Line Styles, and click on Manage.
  2. Create a New Set: In the Line Style Editor, click on Add to create a new set of line styles or select an existing set to modify.
  3. Add a Custom Line Style: Click on the Add button under the Styles section. Name your new line style for easy identification.
  4. Design Your Line Style: Use the editor to customize the appearance:
    • Appearance: Choose from solid lines, dashes, dots, or a combination.
    • Text and Symbols: Insert custom text or symbols along the line.
    • Scale: Adjust the scale to fit the size of your drawings.
  5. Save and Apply: Click OK to save your new line style. It will now appear in the Line Style dropdown menu when creating markups.

To apply your custom line style:

  1. Select a markup tool like the Line or Polyline.
  2. In the Properties toolbar, find the Line Style dropdown.
  3. Select your custom line style from the list.
  4. Draw your markup on the PDF; it will display with your custom style.

Sharing Custom Line Styles:

You can share your custom line styles with team members to ensure consistency across documents:

  1. In the Line Style Editor, click Save As to export your line style set.
  2. Save the .btx file to a shared location.
  3. Team members can import the line styles by clicking Load in their Line Style Editor and selecting the shared .btx file.

By utilizing custom line styles, you streamline your workflow and maintain a professional standard across all your documents.
