SheetAgent for Civil 3D is a professional sheet production plugin that helps civil engineering firms create complete, standards-compliant sheet sets directly from an Autodesk Civil 3D model. Tiles remain editable in model space, while layouts stay linked to Civil 3D’s Sheet Set Manager. Automated elements can include viewport placement, title-block population, sheet sequencing, station ranges, north arrows, scale bars, legends, vicinity maps, sheet-number labels, and matchlines trimmed to viewport edges. SheetAgent does not overwrite manual drafting decisions. Its health tools identify changes or standards drift and allow the designer to decide whether an item should be accepted, corrected, or left unchanged.

It can assemble a complete production sheet using the components required by the firm’s standards. Main viewports may be configured as single-plan, plan-and-profile, plan-and-plan, or plan-and-duplicate arrangements. Supporting viewports can display key maps, legends, and vicinity maps, while title blocks are placed, populated, and sequenced for each sheet. Matchlines include lines and labels and can be trimmed at viewport boundaries for a clean plotted result. Key maps can show tile outlines, hatched extents, and sheet-number labels, helping readers understand each sheet’s location within the wider project.

Those settings are then applied consistently to every supported layout type and every participating user. When the template changes, SheetAgent’s Health palette can identify layouts that no longer match the current configuration, allowing teams to restandardize affected work without manually inspecting every sheet. The health workflow is designed to warn rather than block. It can surface geometry mismatches, missing scale bars, altered north-arrow rotation, model changes, absent elements, and layer drift, while preserving the designer’s control over the drawing. SheetAgent does not automatically discard or overwrite manual edits. Users can review explanations and choose what to accept or revert. Additional live-editing tools help apply layer changes across viewports, adjust hatch presentation, trim matchlines, and refine layouts efficiently. | Legacy Layout Adoption and Project-Wide Coordination Existing projects do not need to be rebuilt before they can benefit from SheetAgent. The Adopt Existing Layouts workflow detects template elements, matches existing layouts, and provides override controls where user review is required. Once adopted, legacy sheets gain access to the same health monitoring, layer standards, and editing tools available to newly generated layouts. This allows firms to introduce SheetAgent during active work without abandoning completed drafting or disrupting established project files. For larger programs, Project Control places the governing sheet tiling in one control drawing. Multiple disciplines—including demolition, erosion control, grading, and layout—can inherit that shared definition with viewports already positioned and sized. Moving a tile in the control drawing can update the disciplines that depend on it, reducing cross-file rework. Teams may specify a maximum number of layouts per drawing so large sets are divided before individual files become cumbersome. Matchlines continue across file boundaries, and sheet numbering proceeds through the complete project rather than restarting with each drawing. | Flexible Generation, Reporting, and Team Management SheetAgent offers a generation method for different civil design conditions. Array mode fills closed boundaries such as sites, parcels, and limits of work. Path mode places sheets along a polyline, making it useful for utility exhibits and preliminary studies before an alignment exists. Alignment mode follows Civil 3D stationing for production plan sets, while Free Placement attaches a sheet preview to the cursor so the designer can place it interactively in model space. Regardless of the method, the resulting tile remains editable as the project develops. A web-based Manager Portal supports organizational administration and measurable deployment. Managers assign access to individual seats and can review telemetry based on the commands their teams actually run. Published time estimates are applied per command, giving firms visibility into layouts built, layouts updated, audits performed, and drafting time recovered.
