V-Ray Tip: VRayColor for consistent, linear procedural tinting

  • Why VRayColor:
    • Consistency: One node, instanced across many materials, keeps art direction locked and easy to update.
    • Performance: Zero I/O and no texture filtering — faster than loading a bitmap just to set a flat color.
    • Precision: Enter exact linear float values (including values above 1.0) for physically meaningful results.
  • Color management essentials:
    • Work in linear. If your pipeline uses OCIO/ACES, ensure color picks are interpreted in the scene’s working space to avoid double‑gamma.
