Polylines in Bluebeam Revu are ideal for marking connected paths, routes, boundaries, and irregular linear conditions without creating several separate line markups. A single polyline stays organized as one markup, making revisions and review easier.

To create one, select Tools > Markup > Polyline, or choose the Polyline tool from the toolbar. Click each point along the desired path, then double-click the final point to complete the markup.

• Plan your clicks: Each click creates a vertex. Use vertices at changes in direction, corners, or key reference points.
• Use Snap tools: Enable snapping options when working on detailed drawings to help vertices align accurately with lines, grids, and endpoints.
• Adjust after placement: Select the completed polyline to move individual control points, reposition the entire markup, or resize it as needed.
• Make the path readable: Use the Properties panel to set line color, style, opacity, and thickness. A heavier line or contrasting color can make site paths and review comments much easier to find.
• Add arrowheads when direction matters: In Properties, apply start or end line endings to indicate travel direction, material flow, sequencing, or responsibility.
• Save common styles: If your team repeatedly uses the same polyline appearance, add it to the Tool Chest. This ensures every user applies a consistent visual standard.

Polylines are especially useful for tracing temporary access routes, highlighting utility runs, identifying punch-list paths, or showing the extent of a proposed change. Unlike a collection of separate lines, one polyline can be selected, copied, moved, and tracked as a single item in the Markups List.

For a cleaner review workflow, assign a meaningful Subject such as “Site Route,” “Utility Path,” or “Field Verification,” then add a comment or status. This turns a simple graphic into actionable project information.
