Bluebeam Tip: Combine Multiple Files into an Organized PDF in Bluebeam Revu

Combining multiple files into one PDF is one of the quickest ways to create a clean, shareable project package in Bluebeam Revu. Whether you are assembling drawings, specifications, photos, reports, or submittals, the Combine feature helps keep related information together in a logical order.

To begin, go to File > Combine. In the Combine Files window, add PDFs and supported file types from your computer. Revu converts compatible files to PDF as part of the process, so you can build a single deliverable without manually printing every source file first.

  • Add files efficiently: Select Add to browse for files, or drag and drop files directly into the list.
  • Set the right order: Select a file and use the move controls to position it correctly. This is especially important for drawing sets, where cover sheets, indexes, and discipline sheets should follow a consistent sequence.
  • Review page counts: Confirm that each source file contains the expected number of pages before finalizing the package.
  • Remove unnecessary items: Highlight any file you do not need and choose Remove before combining.
  • Use bookmarks when appropriate: If your source PDFs contain bookmarks, Revu can preserve them, making the finished document easier to navigate.

Before clicking OK, consider where the completed PDF will be saved and use a clear file name, such as ProjectName_IssueDate_Combined.pdf. Consistent naming reduces confusion when files are shared with clients, consultants, or field teams.

For large drawing packages, combine only the documents required for the current review or issue. A focused PDF is faster to open, easier to distribute, and less likely to create version-control problems. After combining, use thumbnails, bookmarks, and page labels to perform a quick quality check.
