Bluebeam Tip: Batch PDF Conversion and Consolidation in Bluebeam Revu

Batch PDF creation in Bluebeam Revu converts and combines diverse files into a single, shareable package—fast and consistently.

  1. Open Revu and go to Batch > Convert (or File > Create > From Multiple Files). This launches the Bluebeam Stapler.
  2. Click Add Files or Add Folder to bring in PDFs, Office docs, images, and more. Tip: If a native plug-in isn’t available, Revu will route through the Bluebeam PDF printer for reliable output.
  3. Drag to reorder files. Use the up/down controls for precise sequencing (e.g., title sheet, index, plans, details).
  4. Choose to combine into one consolidated PDF or create individual PDFs per source file. Set your output folder and naming pattern to keep sets organized.
  5. Select Options/Settings and choose a preset:
    • High Quality (print-ready)
    • Small File Size (email/field use)
    • PDF/A (archival compliance)
Adjust resolution, fonts, and security as needed.
  6. Enable navigation aids when possible (bookmarks by file name and page labels where supported) to speed downstream reviews.
  7. Save the Stapler job to reuse on future issuances—ideal for weekly drawing updates and recurring bid packages.
  8. Click Convert. Revu processes files in the background; large sets can run unattended.
  • Validate page size and orientation before converting to avoid scale issues downstream.
  • After creation, use Batch Link to auto-hyperlink callouts, and Batch Slip Sheet to roll in revisions without breaking bookmarks.
  • Maintain source PDF layers when available for trade-specific print sets.
  • For QA, generate a quick PDF Summary of bookmarks and page labels to confirm package integrity.
  • Batch Convert and advanced automation are available in Revu Complete. For licensing guidance and upgrades, connect with NOVEDGE.
