Rhino 3D Tip: Enhancing Modeling Efficiency through Custom View Management in Rhino 3D

In Rhino 3D, creating custom views can significantly enhance your modeling efficiency by allowing you to save and recall specific viewpoints of your model. Here's how to create and manage custom views:

Creating a Custom View:

  1. Adjust Your View: Navigate to the desired position and orientation in your model using the mouse and viewport controls.
  2. Save the View:
    • Go to the menu bar and select View > Set Named Views...
    • In the Named Views panel that opens, click Save As.
    • Enter a name for your custom view and click OK.

Managing Custom Views:

  • Recall a Saved View:
    • Open the Named Views panel via View > Set Named Views...
    • Double-click on the desired view from the list to instantly navigate to it.
  • Update a View:
    • Select the view you wish to update.
    • Click Update after adjusting the viewport to the new desired perspective.

Tips:

  • Organize Your Views: Give descriptive names to your views to easily identify them later.
  • Use Keyboard Shortcuts: Assign shortcuts to frequently used views for quick access.
  • Export and Import Views: Save your views to an external file using the Export function in the Named Views panel. This allows you to share views between different projects.
