Bluebeam Tip: Standardize Daily Markup Reports in Bluebeam Revu

Produce consistent daily reports from Bluebeam Revu markups using Markup Summaries. Here’s a fast, repeatable workflow you can standardize across the team.

  • Prep the set
    • Calibrate the drawing and apply Page Labels (use AutoMark to pull sheet names/numbers).
    • Define Spaces for floors/areas so markups inherit locations automatically.
    • Save these settings in a shared Profile for field teams (store centrally via Studio Projects or your DMS).
  • Standardize markups
    • Build Tool Chest tools with clear Subjects: Daily-Note, Safety, Work-Completed, Work-Planned.
    • Create Custom Columns (dropdowns): Trade, Priority, Impact; add a numeric column for Qty or Hours.
    • Configure Statuses (color-aware): Open, In Progress, Complete, Blocked, with timestamps and initials.
  • Capture evidence
    • Use Capture on critical markups to embed photos/video; take shots directly in the field on tablet.
    • Apply a dynamic stamp for inspector/foreman; Date and Author populate automatically in the Markups List.
  • Filter and QA
    • In the Markups List, filter by Today (Date), your Project/Space, and Status to isolate the day’s work.
    • Sort by Space, then Subject; spot-check incomplete items before summarizing.
  • Generate the report
    • Markups List > Summary > PDF Summary.
    • Scope: Filtered Markups only; Group by Space, then Subject; Sort by Status, then Author.
    • Include Thumbnails and Capture Media; enable Hyperlinks back to markups.
    • Add Header/Footer (project, date, logo) and Save Config as Template for reuse.
    • Distribute by appending to the drawing set or creating a standalone daily report PDF.
  • Variations
    • Export a CSV Summary for supervisors who prefer Excel rollups.
    • In Studio Sessions, lock final markups, export the summary, and archive to a Project.
