Bluebeam Tip: Save Bluebeam Revu Workspace Layouts with Profiles

Save workspace layouts in Bluebeam Revu Profiles to keep the right tools, panels, and interface arrangement ready for every task.

A Profile records much more than a toolbar configuration. It can preserve your workspace layout, including open panels, panel locations, toolbars, keyboard shortcuts, and other interface preferences. This makes it easy to move between focused workflows without repeatedly rebuilding your screen.

  • Set up the workspace first: Arrange panels such as Tool Chest, Markups List, Properties, Thumbnails, and Studio where they support your current role. For example, estimators may prioritize Measurements and Tool Chest, while document controllers may prefer Sets, Bookmarks, and Markups List.
  • Save the configuration to a Profile: Open the Revu menu, select Profiles, then use Manage Profiles to create or modify a profile. Save only after the interface is arranged as intended.
  • Name Profiles by purpose: Clear names such as “Estimating,” “Field Review,” “QA/QC,” or “Document Control” help users select the correct environment quickly.
  • Switch when the workflow changes: Instead of closing panels and rearranging toolbars manually, select the appropriate Profile. Revu restores the saved interface layout, reducing setup time and visual clutter.
  • Export a backup: In Profile Management, export important custom Profiles. This protects your setup when changing computers, updating hardware, or standardizing workstations across a team.

Profiles are especially valuable for teams that perform several functions in the same application. A clean, role-specific workspace reduces missed markups, limits unnecessary tools, and helps users stay focused on the task at hand.
