Flattening markups is an important step before issuing a PDF, but it does not always have to be final. In Bluebeam Revu, Unflatten can restore eligible flattened markups so they can be revised, replied to, or removed without recreating the work.
Use this feature when a review comment, cloud, stamp, measurement, or other annotation needs correction after a document has been flattened.
A practical workflow is to save two versions: an editable review file and a flattened issue file. This preserves a clean record while giving the project team a reliable source file for future revisions.
Remember that unflattening is not a replacement for document control. Restrict access to the recovery password, use clear file names, and archive issued versions before making changes. For Bluebeam Revu licensing and workflow resources, visit NOVEDGE’s Bluebeam collection.
You can find all the Bluebeam products on the NOVEDGE web site at this page.
