Bluebeam Tip: Maximizing Project Accuracy with Bluebeam Revu's Compare Documents Feature

Ensuring your project documents are accurately updated and aligned is crucial for the success of any project. The Compare Documents feature in Bluebeam Revu is an invaluable tool for professionals looking to identify and manage changes between document revisions effectively.

Here are some tips for using the Compare Documents feature:

  • Start by opening both versions of the document you want to compare in Bluebeam Revu.
  • Go to the Document menu, select Compare Documents, and choose the older document as your 'Original' and the newer one as your 'Revision'.
  • Adjust the comparison settings to fit your needs. You can compare based on content, appearance, or both, and you can even select specific areas for comparison if you're not interested in the entire document.
  • Once you initiate the comparison, Bluebeam Revu will create a new document highlighting the differences. Changes will generally be color-coded, with additions in one color and deletions in another.
  • Use the Filter function in the Markups List to sort through the changes efficiently. You can organize them by type, color, or page number.
  • If you're working on a multi-page document and you find the color overlay confusing, you can use the Split-Screen view to display the original and revised documents side-by-side for a more clear comparison.
  • Remember to save the comparison report for future reference or share it with your team for further review.
