Bluebeam Tip: Master PDF Reviews with the Bluebeam Markups List

When a drawing set contains dozens or hundreds of review notes, the Markups List in Bluebeam Revu is the fastest way to locate, understand, and act on comments without manually scanning every page.

Open the Markups List by selecting Window > Panels > Markups, or use Alt+L. Every markup in the current PDF is displayed as a sortable row, including its page number, author, subject, comment, status, and date.

  • Click a row to jump directly to the comment. Revu automatically navigates to the correct page and highlights the associated markup, making it easy to find a specific issue in a large document set.
  • Use the search field to narrow results. Search for a keyword, an author’s name, a markup subject, or a phrase entered in the Comments column. This is especially useful when a reviewer references a specific room, detail number, or coordination issue.
  • Sort by the information that matters. Click a column heading to sort comments by page, author, status, subject, or date. For example, sorting by Status helps teams focus on items that remain open or require further action.
  • Filter out irrelevant comments. Apply filters to show only markups from a particular reviewer, discipline, status, or selected pages. A filtered list turns a dense review into a focused action list.
  • Customize visible columns. Right-click a column heading to add, remove, or rearrange fields. Include columns such as Subject, Label, Space, or custom columns to match your project’s tracking process.
  • Use replies and statuses for context. Expand markup rows when needed to review discussion threads, then update statuses as comments are addressed. This creates a clear audit trail for coordination and closeout.

For best results, establish consistent subjects, statuses, and reviewer names before the review begins. The Markups List then becomes more than a comment index—it becomes a live project-management tool that supports faster review meetings, cleaner handoffs, and reliable reporting.
