Bluebeam Tip: Markups List Filters — Quickly Isolate Actionable Items

Today’s tip: Use Markups List filters to cut through noise and focus on actionable items fast—especially on drawing sets loaded with comments and measurements.

  • Open the Markups List panel and click the funnel icon, or use any column header’s menu to access precise Filter options.
  • Filter by built‑in columns like Subject, Status, Author, Color, Layer, Page, Date, and Comments—plus any Custom Columns you’ve added.
  • Combine multiple conditions to isolate next actions (e.g., Status = Open, Assigned To = Me, and Page = current sheet). Use “contains,” “equals,” and range operators where available.
  • Show only the columns you need, then save the layout in a custom Profile to reuse the same filtered workflow across projects and teams.
  • Narrow by Page to triage sheet-by-sheet. Pair a Page filter with Status = Open to drive quick punch walks or issue review cycles.
  • QA/QC check: filter for blanks or nonconforming values (e.g., Status is empty, or Subject does not contain “RFI”) to catch metadata gaps before publishing.
  • With filters applied, export to CSV or create a PDF Summary—only the filtered markups are included. This is ideal for trade handoffs or meeting packets.
  • In Studio Sessions, filters affect only your view, not other participants. Use them to keep live reviews focused without hiding information from the team.
  • Create a Custom Column like “Discipline” (drop‑down: Arch, Struct, MEP, Civil), then filter by trade to generate discipline-specific lists and reports.
  • Clear quickly using the Clear All Filters button next to the funnel. Verify the funnel icon is not highlighted before exporting full summaries.
