Bluebeam Tip: Create Role-Based Bluebeam Revu Profiles for Faster Workflows

A personalized Bluebeam Revu Profile helps you work faster by saving the panels, toolbars, shortcuts, and settings you use most. Instead of adjusting the interface every time you open a drawing set, create a profile that supports your specific role—whether you are estimating, reviewing submittals, coordinating construction documents, or performing punch walks.

To create one, go to Revu > Profiles > Manage Profiles, select Add, and give your profile a clear name, such as “Estimating,” “QA Review,” or “Project Management.” Then arrange Revu exactly as you want it.

  • Set up your panels: Keep frequently used panels, such as Tool Chest, Markups List, Measurements, Properties, and Studio, visible and docked where they are easiest to reach.
  • Customize your tools: Add your preferred markup and measurement tools to the Tool Chest. Saved tools can retain colors, line styles, subjects, labels, and other properties.
  • Organize for your task: An estimator may prioritize Measurements and Dynamic Fill, while a reviewer may place the Markups List and Thumbnails panel front and center.
  • Save keyboard shortcuts: Configure shortcuts for commands you perform repeatedly to reduce unnecessary clicks.
  • Create role-based profiles: Separate profiles prevent a cluttered, one-size-fits-all workspace and make transitions between tasks much smoother.

Once your layout is ready, return to Manage Profiles and use Export to create a backup file. This is especially valuable when moving to a new workstation or sharing standardized settings with a team. Importing the profile restores the familiar workspace quickly and supports more consistent document reviews.

For teams using Bluebeam Revu, standardized profiles can improve onboarding and help ensure everyone uses the same approved tools, markup conventions, and panel layouts.
