Bluebeam Tip: Create Clear Quantity Reports from Bluebeam Revu Takeoff Data

Turn your Bluebeam Revu takeoff data into a clear, shareable quantity report without manually retyping totals into a spreadsheet. A well-configured report helps estimators, project managers, and field teams review quantities quickly and trace every number back to its source markup.

Start by making sure your measurement markups are consistent. Each item should include meaningful data such as Subject, Label, Space, and any custom columns used for pricing, trade, phase, or cost code. This structure is what makes the final report useful.

  • Standardize your markups: Use saved tools from the Tool Chest so similar materials, assemblies, or equipment types carry the same properties every time.
  • Use the Markups List: Open the Markups List at the bottom of Revu to review all measurements, counts, lengths, areas, and volumes in one location.
  • Organize with columns: Display the columns that matter to your audience, such as Subject, Label, Page Label, Space, Quantity, Unit Cost, and Total Cost.
  • Sort and filter before exporting: Filter the list by trade, floor, drawing set, or status to create focused reports for specific scopes of work.
  • Check totals carefully: Group similar markups and confirm that scales, units, and measurement settings are correct before issuing the report.

When your data is ready, select Summary from the Markups List to create a PDF, CSV, or XML summary. A PDF summary is ideal for a polished review package, while CSV export is better when quantities need to be analyzed, priced, or combined with estimating data in Excel.

For maximum clarity, include page references and markup thumbnails in PDF summaries. Recipients can immediately see where each quantity originated, reducing questions and speeding up estimate reviews. Save your column configuration and reusable measurement tools so future projects follow the same reporting standard.
