Create and edit Space boundaries in Bluebeam Revu to anchor every markup and measurement to a defined room or zone for cleaner takeoffs, clearer reviews, and better reporting.
Create Spaces fast:
- Open the Spaces panel, select Add Space, and draw a rectangle or freeform polygon around the room/area. Name it clearly (e.g., “Level 02 – 210 Conference”).
- Speed method: use Dynamic Fill to “paint” the room, then output to Space. This is ideal for irregular shapes and busy drawings.
- Convert existing shapes: right‑click an Area/Polygon markup and create a Space from it to reuse accurate boundaries you’ve already traced.
Edit boundaries with precision:
- In the Spaces panel, select a Space and choose Edit to adjust vertices and edges. Use Snap to Content and Snap to Markups for clean alignment to walls and gridlines.
- Duplicate a Space and paste it on similar pages, then tweak vertices—faster than redrawing from scratch on each level.
- Keep names unique and avoid overlaps to ensure reporting stays accurate.
Best‑practice settings:
- Turn on snap settings before tracing to align with vector content.
- Temporarily hide heavy layers so wall lines are easy to see.
- Adopt a consistent naming convention (Floor – Room No – Name) for reliable grouping and filters.
Put Spaces to work:
- Markups automatically inherit the Space name—group and subtotal in the Markups List by Space for instant room‑by‑room quantities.
- Export markup data (CSV/Excel) with the Space column to build schedules and QA/QC reports.
- Share PDFs with Spaces in Studio so the team measures and tracks within the same zones.
