Bluebeam Tip: Batch Sign & Seal PDFs in Bluebeam Revu

Speed up closeout and compliance by applying a secure signature and professional seal to multiple PDFs in one pass.

  • Access: Tools > Batch > Sign & Seal (Revu Complete/formerly eXtreme).
  • Prereqs:
    • Create/Import your Digital ID (Signatures panel > Digital IDs) and know its password.
    • Prepare a high‑resolution, transparent PNG of your professional seal (ideally 600 DPI).
  • Workflow:
    • Click Add Files/Folder, then set Page Range (All or custom ranges).
    • Choose Signature and/or Seal image, then Set Location on a sample page; Revu applies the same coordinates to all selected pages.
    • Appearance: include Date/Time, Reason, and Contact fields as needed.
    • Security: select Certification permissions (e.g., Allow Markups, or No Changes Allowed), choose to Lock after signing, and optionally Flatten markups.
    • Output: overwrite or create copies with a suffix; Save Preset for reuse on future projects.

Pro tips:

  • Create separate presets for disciplines (e.g., “PE–Civil–11x17” vs “PE–Civil–24x36”) to handle different title blocks and page sizes.
  • Test on two or three sheets (portrait and landscape) to confirm placement and scaling before running the full batch.
  • Keep seal images in a controlled, read-only location to prevent accidental edits; reference them in your preset.
  • Combine with Batch Slip Sheet first, then run Batch Sign & Seal on the updated set to maintain version integrity.

Quality control:

  • Verify the green “Valid” status in the Signatures panel and review the certification permissions.
  • Avoid flattening before signing; sign first, then flatten via Batch options if required by your workflow.
  • If your seal looks soft or jagged, replace it with a higher‑DPI PNG.
