SolidWorks Importer for 3ds Max is the plugin that adds the ability to import native Solidworks parts and assemblies (*.sldprt, *.sldasm) up to the latest version Solidworks. 

From the new plugin menu that will appear in 3ds Max after installing the plug-in, select Solidworks importer and then Import Solidworks file. Select the Solidworks file to import and in few seconds you will have the model added to your 3DS scene.
