nanoCAD Construction combines the the nanoCAD 21 Platform with AEC drafting utilities and a library of standard parametric elements. It is designed to automate the preparation of construction drawings and documentation.
nanoCAD Platform: a comprehensive set of basic and advanced design tools for creating and editing 2D/3D objects. It offers multiple drawing and editing methods for most geometric elements. nanoCAD 21 platform is the base on which you build a more powerful CAD system to your specifications.
Construction Module: an advanced 3D Tool Set that offers users the rigor of parametric modeling and the freedom of direct modeling, conveniently packaged together in one environment. Parametric modeling builds 3D geometry piece by piece, with formula-based parameters that specify and change sizes of and distances between parts. Direct modeling offers a what-you-see-is-what-you-get approach in which designers edit 3D models by pushing and pulling faces and edges.
Dynamic input Dynamic input helps you set dimensions and sizes of drawing elements, without needing to access the command line. It’s heads-up drafting with pointer input, dimension input, and dynamic prompts. Dynamic input is available for creating and editing objects, which greatly simplifies working with drawings.
IFC support nanoCAD can import IFC files into a DWG document. It is possible to perform numerous operations on imported BIM objects, such as to compile reports on models created in BIM-systems. Add to this an updated tools for 3D navigation in parallel and perspective projection, adaptive zoom, camera and observer head rotation, accelerated performance in saturated 3D models - and you will get a universal IFC-viewer based on DWG and BIM-models.
Tool palettes Tool palettes give you fast, easy access to your most-used commands and blocks. Organizations can define their own sets of standard blocks, hatches, and scripts and then load them on all workstations to access them with a single click.
Drawing Comparison nanoCAD allows you to find differences between two similar-looking drawings in model space. It detects objects that have been modified, added, or removed from drawings being compared.
Powerful Excel-style table editor nanoCAD’s table editor blows away the competition with its powerful set of database-like capabilities, along with tables that embed macros and formulas in cells.
2D/3D Point Clouds nanoCAD imports point clouds into drawings from laser scanners like TerraSolid (bin), ASPRS (las), and Leica (ptx and pts), as well as generic point cloud files (pcd). The Import dialog box is powerful enough to import only the regions of clouds you need. You can create and modify clouds with sections and clips, and tune visualization parameters, such as color by elevation.

Locator Function With the Locator tool, you interactively rotate the view of a model while holding down the Alt key, and then select any point on the locator circle, or choose one of the four marked points to rotate a view by 90◦.The arrow points to the new view rotation position.
Scripting Engine nanoCAD’s scripting engine allows everyday users to automate routine tasks. You can write macros using Visual Basic Script, Java Script, and other scripting languages supported by Microsoft Windows as well as use the built-in LISP interpreter.
Transparency Command The new Transparency command toggles the transparency of background pixels in raster images. Access this new command through the ribbon’s Visualization group, the Raster menu, or the Raster toolbar.
Associative Design Elements For associative dimensions and multileaders created in other CAD systems, associativity with objects is maintained in nanoCAD. Associative links with dimensions can be broken by shifting the grips of extension lines.
Saving unsaved files nanoCAD’s new save feature prevents data loss in cases where the Save option is accidentally declined, such as when many files are closed at the same time. Other scenarios include deleting objects and then saving the drawing, or when the undo/redo mechanism is turned off. In these cases, the new Save File History option restores files from a temporary storage.
Batch Plot Tools nanoCAD lets you set up multiple plot areas and plot multi-page sets, which is useful for printing large drawings on small-format printers. The Batch Plot command creates and prints drawing sets without requiring you to babysit the printing process.
Enhanced UNDO/REDO nanoCAD now moves forwards and backwards through isolated and unisolated objects, affecting the standard Undo/Redo mechanism.
Enhanced External References nanoCAD improves the External References panel so that external references can be loaded and unloaded, be bound to the current drawing, and to report updates made to xref’ed files – all without needing to reload the current drawing. The redesigned panel also completely removes external references that had been inserted in the current drawing, along with all their associated data.
Enhanced Groups nanoCAD’s object grouping tool has been reworked. Its functions are added to the context menu (right-click in the drawing), shown as individual commands in the ribbon’s Group section (found in the Main tab), and to the Group toolbar.
Relocating Base Points of Blocks nanoCAD can change the position of base points in block definitions. The base point corresponds to the location of grips at the insertion points of block references.
New ways to create and modify geometric objects nanoCAD now draws arcs (including elliptical ones) in the direction that the cursor moves. Circles can be drawn tangent to three other objects. Ellipses and closed polylines can be broken by picking two points. Open objects can be lengthened in both directions. Spline fit points can now be edited by holding down the Ctrl key.

Smart drawing and editing utilities The Construction module turns entities that look like tables (lines and text) into table objects. It offers utilities for automatically numbering drawing objects, increasing and decreasing selected areas, and creating custom objects with parametric properties.

Powerful table editor The Construction module features a very powerful built-in table editor that generates tables of any complexity. Users can convert tables imported from other CAD programs to nanoCAD’s own format. As well, it recognizes tables made from primitives. Tables offer the following functions:
In-place editing of tables
Pencil sketching in cells
Cell styles that specify text styles, alignments, line weights, value rounding
Table headers and footers
Calculations between cells
Direct interaction with Clipboard, Excel, and Open Office
Automatic reports The Construction module creates reports from lists, specifications, and object data in drawings. Reports access data extracted from objects, architectural components, design elements, blocks with attributes, and the Construction module’s library of parts. There is no need to worry that reports might be not up to date.
Generate analyses directly from rooms in drawings
Automatically update reports as properties of objects change
Save reports as templates for use in other drawings to generate the same kinds of reports and analyses

Architectural layouts The Construction module lays out building plans using discipline-specific tools and objects:
Straight and arc-shaped walls that join automatically
Custom templates for walls that define geometry, attributes, and multi-layer (ply) construction properties
Walls edited with trim, break, and join commands, or by using grips
Insertion of windows and doors using the built-in database of components
Lay out rooms and spaces on plans, with customized space attributes and composition
Automatic calculation and creation of room analyses and lists of compositions
Insertion of interior elements using a database of templates
Generating 3D models and IFC-format documentation with the Project Manager
Parametric parts library The Construction Module comes with a built-in library that contains a vast number of parametric parts and templates. Each parametric object has its own set of size tables, display modes, and behaviors. As it is an open database, parametric objects can be edited with the MechWizard tool.

Concrete foundations, beams, columns
Steel profiles in ISO, IS, DIN, GOST standards
Fasteners in ISO, DIN, IS, CSN, PN/M, GOST standards
Drawing borders, title blocks
Parametric borders and title blocks The Construction module provides drawing borders and title blocks that are parametric. This save you time when completing drawings:
Multi-view drawing borders use dedicated grips and switches to change their size, format, and orientation
Special grips change aspects of title blocks
Stamps dialog box fills in reusable text in title blocks
In addition to the collection of pre-made drawing borders and title blocks, you can create your own parametric borders and stamps using the Format and Stamp Wizard.
Engineering networks The Construction module includes a set of tools for engineering networks, such as internal communications, HVAC, and gas supplies, with templates for traces, equipment, and connectors.
Customized settings The Construction module takes a flexible approach to object settings. All pre-configured elements provided the module can be redefined using the object settings window, as required by design firms, and then copied to all workstations.
Objects scaling The Construction module supports drawings with many views at different scales. With just two clicks, you can adjust the scale of drawings, both for specific objects and for entire drawings. The symbol scale adjusts the sizes of text, dimensions, and linetypes automatically in model space and in layouts using viewports.
Create custom parametric objects Parametric objects are an improvement over dynamic blocks as they contain not just grips for changing blocks, but also offer dialog boxes with choices of options. The Master of Objects allows you to edit library items and create parametric objects to your needs.
Create custom dialog boxes It can be easier to manipulate objects with dialog boxes. The Form designer allows you to create dialog boxes for leaders, blocks, nanoCAD tables, and custom objects. Auxiliary variables for objects can be entered into a form, and arranged in an order convenient to you.
Parametric design elements The Construction module employs objects that follow preset rules based on design requirements of building projects. All drawing elements that make up AEC objects (such as notches, lines, and text) contain parameters that control their display and geometric configurations.
