VRscans Plug-in - Educational

VRscans Plug-in is combination of a hardware-based scanning system and a software-based rendering plugin that work together to easily create material properties for creating realistic renderings without the usual workflow of texture maps and tweaking shader settings. This enables a high level of accuracy for visualizing real-world materials in renders. 

The VRscans plugin is the part of V-Ray (v 3.5 and above) which provides the UI for importing, modifying and using the VRscans materials in the supported platforms:

• V-Ray for 3ds Max
• V-Ray for Maya
• V-Ray for SketchUp
• V-Ray for Rhino
• V-Ray for Modo
• V-Ray for Revit

The subscription includes access to the VRscans Library, which contains over1000 pre-scanned materials ready to be applied to 3D visualizations in 3ds Max, Maya, Rhino, SketchUp, Revit and Modo. The growing collection includes samples of car paint, fabric, leather, wood, plastic, metal and more.

Proof of Academic Status

An educational institution, or a student/staff member at the institution, may use V-Ray Educational licenses for educational purposes only and not for commercial for-profit work, transfer, or resale.

Student/Teacher Educational license
A "Student/Teacher" is a person who can confirm enrollment/employment at a degree-granting educational institution. Students and staff must present current student ID or current proof of employment at the educational institution to purchase a license.

Universities/Educational Institutions licenses
"Universities/Educational institutions" are defined as those dedicated to education, including a public or private, school or a two-year or four-year college or university or career school that is accredited by a state or other appropriate governmental agency or organization. An educational institution is not a government or nonprofit agency, a commercial customer, a corporate training environment, or other training program or center that serves commercial or professional customers. Universities/Educational institutions must purchase software with documentation issued by the institution.
