ArCADia RAMA is a tool designed for Structural Engineers allowing to perform structural analysis and design and verification of planar and spatial bar structures.
Data is intuitively entered in the program - the construction geometry can be defined using only a mouse. The program works with CAD-type applications and the ArCADia-ARCHITECTURE system.
Basic function generators are available.
ArCADia-RAMA contains a library of rolled and cold-formed profiles, reinforced concrete and timber elements. The program can be used for easy insertion of planar and spatial bar structures, both small systems comprising a number of bars, and large 3D structures containing hundreds of bars and nodes.
Therefore, it is possible to design such construction systems as: multi-level and multi-bay frames, planar and spatial trusses, lattice towers, membrane structures, bar grates, etc. The program makes it possible to work with design and verification modules according to Eurocodes: EuroReinforcedConcrete, EuroFooting, EuroWood, EuroSteel, EuroSteel BUILT-UP.
ArCADia-RAMA DESIGN AND VERIFICATION MODULES
The design and verification module EuroReinforcedConcrete is intended for the design and verification of flat and spatial reinforced concrete bar structures according to PN-EN 1992-1-1 Eurocodes 2 in the program ArCADia-RAMA, in a flat and complex load condition. As part of checking the ultimate limit state and use, the program performs the following calculations:
The calculation of the longitudinal reinforcement for bidirectional bending, eccentric compression, eccentric tension and torsion with the consideration of limits for perpendicular cracks.
The calculation of transverse reinforcement (stirrups) for bidirectional shear and torsion.
The calculation of bidirectional deflection in the cracking state.
It is possible to design and verify the following types of cross-sections in the program: circular, rectangular, angular, T-shaped, I-shaped, C-shaped, and Z-shaped.
The design and verification module EuroFooting is an integral part of the ArCADia-RAMA system. It is intended for the design of direct foundations (spot footings) according to PN-EN 1997-1 Eurocode 7 in the combined load state. The module allows you to define the following foundation types in the program:
Rectangular reinforced concrete footing
Trapezoidal reinforced concrete footing
A reinforced concrete bell footing
Stepped reinforced concrete footing
Circular reinforced concrete footing
The EuroWood module is intended for design and verification of single-branch, planar and spatial timber structures with rectangular cross-sections, according to PN-EN 1995-1-1 Eurocode 5, in the ArCADia-RAMA program, in the unidirectional and bidirectional stress state, including the torsional moment. The program checks the load capacity and deflections taking into account rheological influences for solid and glued laminated timber elements of rectangular cross-sections. Depending on the internal forces occurring, the following verifications of the ultimate and the serviceability limit states can be carried out in the program:
Checking flexural stability in the bending state.
Checking two-way bending with compression.
Checking compression with two-way bending.
Checking two-way bending.
Checking two-way bending with tension.
Checking axial compression.
Checking axial tension.
Checking one and two-way shear.
Checking torsion with shear.
Checking the permissible relative deflection and displacement taking into account rheological influences (creep and humidity).
The EuroSteel module is intended for the design and verification of planar and spatial steel bar structures according to PN-EN 1993-1-1 Eurocode 3 in the ArCADia-RAMA program, in a complex state of stress, omitting the effect of the torsional moment on the load capacity of the bar.
The currently introduced standard PN-EN 1993-1-1 Eurocode 3 significantly changes the procedure for the design and verification of basic steel single-branch elements. The changes cover virtually all aspects of steel structure design. The EuroSteel module checks the limit state of load-bearing capacity and use (displacement and relative deflection) of elements.
The EuroSteel BUILT-UP module is used to design and verify bars and complex elements, near and far-branching uniform built-up compression members, according to PN-EN 1993-1-1 Eurocode 3 norm, in a complex state of tension.
